Responsibilities:
Lidar Algorithm Development: Develop, implement, and optimize LiDAR-based localization and mapping algorithms for autonomous vehicles.
Senor Fusion Development: Integrate LiDAR data with other sensor data (e.g., GPS, IMU, cameras) to create accurate, real-time maps and localization solutions.
Solution Deployment: Lead deployment of localization and mapping solutions into the autonomous driving stack collaborating with software, hardware and product teams.
Issue Resolution: Triage and debug issues related to localization and mapping, ensuring continuous improvement and system robustness.
Map Support: Support the online and offline generation and interfacing of maps to maintain and enhance localization accuracy.
System Improvement: Drive improvements to the continuous integration (CI) system for localization and mapping, enhancing efficiency and reliability.
Required Skills:
MS or PhD in CS, EE, Robotics or a related field.
Proven experience in LiDAR-based localization and mapping for autonomous vehicles or robotics.
Strong background in sensor fusion, particularly with LiDAR, GPS, IMU, and camera data.
Proficiency in C++ and ROS.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical team members.
Preferred Skills:
Relevant industry experience (prior work on self-driving vehicles, drone, autonomy and/or robotics projects).
Experience with Gaussian splatting/NeRF is a plus.
Experience with deep learning techniques applied to localization and mapping is a plus.
Salary Range:
$170,000 - $210,000 a year
