We all knew it was coming and got glimpses of it for the last couple of weeks, but the first Unreal Engine 5 Plugin for 3D Gaussian Splatting has hit the Epic Marketplace.
Back in March, we saw Akiya Research getting NeRFs running in Unreal Engine, so it's no surprise the team moved quick on Gaussian Splatting.
Look how clean and vibrant the colors are. What a time to be alive!
The plugin itself comes with a somewhat steep $99 fee and the reason I say steep is because the training of 3D Gaussian Splatting's license is still a bit murky, so take that with a grain of salt as you explore.

Content Creator, Bilawal Sidhu, showed off a scene running at 80fps inside of Unreal Engine and it looks amazing!
Things are continuing to move fast for Gaussian Splatting. Perhaps faster than Inria even would like, but as these technological improvements continue, I see them needing to address questions surrounding licensing sooner than later.
UPDATE: V1.2 has now been released and comes with the following updates:
Now supports UE5.1 and 5.2
Added conversion guide from unofficial Apache-2.0 implementation (experimental)
Fixed bugs
