Hot on the heels of the Solaris and Karma integration in v2.6, CG Nomads has just released GSOPs 2.7, adding a new set of creative tools and quality of life updates for Gaussian Splatting inside Houdini.
This update introduces two new early access nodes designed to give artists more control over their splats. Gaussian Splats Enhance lets you add feature attributes, generate or refine normals, and introduce ambient occlusion for extra depth and realism. Whereas Gaussian Splats Sharpen improves clarity, with the option to apply sharpening selectively through a mask attribute, such as one derived from feature attributes.
The release also includes a series of practical improvements. Authentication timeouts have been fine tuned, bugs affecting file paths with spaces have been resolved, GSOPs shelf tools are more reliable, and a scaling issue with 2DGS imports has been fixed. Updated precompiled binaries for macOS and Windows round out the release, making setup easier than ever.
GSOPs remains free to download and AGPL 3.0 Licensed in its GitHub repo.
