Akiya Research, whose Gaussian Splatting Unreal Engine plugin is available for purchase, has pushed out an update with an exciting add on.
Changelog
Added VR support. Turn on "Advanced > VR" in BP's details tab.
Added option to tweak sprite size.
It's very exciting to see Gaussian Splatting VR within Unreal Engine. Now, just like NeRFs on Instant-NGP, you can go in and view your memories and captures in full VR. For those that do not have access to a Gaussian Splatting file, but want to give it a try, Akiya has also posted a VR demo .exe. It is completely free and runs on Windows 10. It's that famous, "bicycle" splat scene.
While it was only a matter of time before Gaussian Splatting VR arrived, the amount of time it took was significantly faster than anyone expected.
As a note, it's still not been confirmed whether or not Akiya's plugin was officially licensed from Inria, so please exercise caution if you are looking to utilize the plugin for commercial purposes.
