GaussianSplats3D

GaussianSplats3D, a Three.js based Gaussian Splatting renderer from Mark Kellogg has received a couple great quality of life updates.

Just in time for the Vision Pro, you can now utilize WebXR for both virtual reality and augmented reality. In order to enable either mode, you will need to update one line as an additional setting under:

'webXRMode'

The default is set to off, but updating the off to either 'VR' or 'AR' will enable you to view your scene. Mark has added a VR demo on his website here!

In addition to adding WebXR, support for larger scenes have now been added and Three.js has been updated to v160. Mark also has a .ply to .splat converter on his website, though the .ply will need to already have been trained with Gaussian Splatting to work. Mark has also been developing the .ksplat file type which is a more compressed file size for Gaussian Splatting.
