Agisoft Metashape

Structure from Motion (SfM) is a process that creates 3D models from 2D images. By analyzing overlapping photos, SfM software determines the positions and geometry of objects in three dimensions. This technology allows users to capture the real world and convert it into highly detailed digital models.

SfM is mandatory in almost all currently available Radiance Field reconstruction pipelines. A lot of platforms have their own internal SfM pipeline, though some users prefer to go with their software of choice and then import the SfM data. RealityCapture is one of the industry leaders in this respect and is known for its accurate camera and swift pose generations.

With the release of V 2.1.3, COLMAP export, which is often used by Radiance Methods like NeRFs and Gaussian Splatting has been added to the standard tier for Metashape. Unlike other plaforms, Metashape is a paid software.
