Radiance Fields have several use cases beyond pure visualization, one of which comes from the education and sales sector.
You may remember Paolo Tosolini and Maria Sanchez Isaza's most recent creation, which helps teach the different parts of a drum kit by merging audio, text, and the photorealistic effects of Gaussian Splatting through Spline.
The pair has returned to showcase another example of how industries can adopt this technology.
Starting with Polycam, they uploaded a drone capture of a wheel skidder construction vehicle. This should work with any of the platforms that are able to train 3DGS.
From there, they brought the .ply into the interactive viewing platform, SeekBeak, which will be adding 3DGS support in an upcoming release. Once the capture was loaded in, they utilized the no-code platform Intuiface to create a database-driven user interface.
The resulting product is a fully interactive web page where users can visualize the wheel skidder and learn about what makes it unique. Additionally, each section includes an animation that brings the user directly to the point of interest. For instance, if someone wants to learn about the claw at the front of the machine, they can click on it for more information.
It's easy to see how a tool like this would be helpful for trade shows, conferences, and sales presentations, allowing your audience to interact with your product in a hyper-realistic and immersive way. Additionally, this entire pipeline bypasses the need for coding, with all services being cloud-based and handling commands for you. They leveraged the strengths of each tool to combine them into an easy-to-visualize business storytelling use case.

Imagine how you could use something like this for your own use case to help demonstrate and educate others about your product! Stay tuned for more from Paolo and Maria.
