Spanish based Radiance Field company, Volinga AI has now introduced their Gaussian Splatting capability. It's still the same .NVOL file type that they introduced earlier this year, but now it's compatible with 3D Gaussian Splatting.
In their announcement video, they showcase both Nerfacto and 3DGS outputs running in Unreal Engine 5. Similar to Luma, their pipeline is commercially available to use. This unlocks a new avenue for users to get Gaussian Splatting running in Unreal Engine through nerfstudio. Previously, it was possible to view 3D Gaussian Splatting in nerfstudio.
The nerfstudio team has been hard at work developing a native pipeline through nerfstudio for 3D Gaussian Splatting. You can upload a .ckpt file or a mp4 directly to the Volinga site to try it out!
The Volinga suite is targeted towards Virtual Production and allowing filmmakers to leverage the power of Radiance Fields in their productions. Earlier this year, Volinga Co-Founder Fernando Rivas penned a guest article about how radiance fields will supercharge production pipelines.
More to come.
