Volinga, one of the leading radiance field platforms for virtual production and the first platform to put NeRFs in Unreal Engine has unveiled their first two announcements of 2024.

The first announcement comes as an exciting surprise, with a web viewer for 3DGS files created by Volinga and their .NVOL file type. All files that have been processed through Volinga's Gaussian Splatting method are able to be viewed in the viewer already. Currently the viewer only supports .NVOL files.

In addition to the viewer, you are now able to share links of your captures out to your network! This joins nerfstudio's recent viewer improvement, which also enabled sharing. However, the two viewers are unrelated. As a reminder, commercial use is available through Volinga with a license.

The second announcement was related to personnel. Volinga has officially named Co-Founder Fernando Rivas Manzaneque CEO.

Fernando Rivas-Manzaneque, co-founder of Volinga, has been working for 3 years in the intersection between neural rendering and filmmaking. With a Bachelor's and Master's degree in electrical engineering, he has dedicated the the last two years to conducting extensive research on Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) at Arquimea Research Center. His contributions have been recognized by renowned conferences such as CVPR, where he has published his work. In addition to his research endeavors, Fernando is currently pursuing a PhD, further solidifying his expertise in the field. Recently, he established Volinga.ai with the vision of applying the outcomes of his research to the media and entertainment industry, ensuring that his findings have a tangible impact on the field. At Volinga, he led the developments for Unreal Engine and RenderStream plugins for NeRF, being the first company to bring NeRF into Virtual Production.

Fernando was also a panelist at our SIGGRAPH exhibition last fall. Congratulations, Fernando and team!
