nerfstudio gaussian splatting

The day is finally here! The very long requested feature of nerfstudio Gaussian Splatting has been merged into the main branch of nerfstudio. This means you can begin using the hotly in demand method fully within nerfstudio.

A formal announcement will be coming in the near future from the Berkeley based team, but they have added Gaussian Splatting to uncover any remaining bugs prior to the full release. This will also work for people based on Windows.

Earlier in October, we saw nerfstudio unveil their Gaussian Splatting method, Gsplat. People have been busy building ontop of the method, including Polycam, who utilizes nerfstudio to power their implementation of Gaussian Splatting.

As a reminder, nerfstudio is a open sourced project that comes with an Apache 2.0 License, allowing for commercial applications.

Have a fun weekend everyone!
