In early September, we took at a look at Improving NeRF Quality by Progressive Camera Placement by Georgios Kopanas and George Drettakis from Inria.

At the time, they stated that they would be making the code available and today you can now access it from their Gitlab. As a reminder, they are able to increase NeRF reconstruction quality by utilizing an algorithm they created to give guidance on what the best next camera location during capture would be.

It's a very cool paper and one that I am excited to see in the wild. There are far reaching applications of for spaces where the user just wants to explore and see a location. If you'd like to learn more about how it works, check out my original article, here!

The source code is forked from Instant-NGP, so the NVIDIA commercial license will apply.
