Volinga has just released version 0.2.0 of its flagship reconstruction tool, Volinga Suite. With this update, the platform becomes even more capable as a production grade environment for creating Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) reconstructions. Version 0.2.0 focuses squarely on performance, usability, and reliability.
Reconstruction speed has been improved by approximately 30%, with the Volinga team demonstrating a full pipeline, from structure from motion to trained splats, taking around 40 minutes total. They’ve also introduced a redesigned Content Browser that mirrors the familiar layout of Unreal Engine, making it easier to manage assets and scenes within large projects.
Another welcome improvement is better compatibility with RealityScan outputs. Alignments and datasets generated from third party photogrammetry tools now integrate more smoothly into Volinga’s pipeline, reducing the friction between capture and reconstruction. Version 0.2.0 also includes automatic updates and background bug fixes, helping users stay current with less maintenance overhead.
Even with these new features, Volinga Suite remains grounded in media and entertainment professionals. It continues to support ACES and HDR color workflows, making it one of the few reconstruction tools capable of preserving wide gamut, high dynamic range color fidelity. OpenEXR compatibility also remains a key part of the pipeline.
For teams working at scale, Volinga continues to offer batch processing for multi capture pipelines. A paid license is required to unlock the full capabilities of the software, but for professional teams, the toolset is maturing quickly. Notably, Volinga has also rolled out a revamped website, making it easier to access documentation, support, and download links. Find out more information about Volinga there.
