CHCNAV has released CoViewer, a free Windows desktop viewer for 3D Gaussian splatting models.
The company already produces splats in its own processing software. CHCNAV's CoMeta package generates 3D Gaussian splats from aerial triangulation and writes them to PLY and 3D Tiles, and CoCloud, its cloud processing platform, generates 3DGS results online. CHCNAV lists CoViewer beside CoCloud and its RS10 and RS7 handheld scanners, and describes the viewer as optimized for handheld scanning data and complex indoor environments.
CoViewer 1.0.0 opens PLY, 3D Tiles, and CHCNAV's own HSC 3DGS models in a single application. Navigation includes a built in orbit flythrough and zooms from a full scene view down to individual features, and CHCNAV says textures and structures stay clear across that range. Elevation clipping cuts away upper levels to expose interior spaces, floor layouts, and hidden details. Scene backgrounds can be set to a solid color or a panoramic image for presentation.
CoViewer also connects to CoCloud. A user signs in to CoCloud through CoViewer, selects a 3DGS project, downloads it, and opens it locally for offline viewing, a path CHCNAV says reduces file preparation. A survey team that processed a multi story interior in CoCloud can open the result on a client's machine, clip away the upper floors, and present each level against a panoramic backdrop. CHCNAV names project presentations, 3D deliverable review, and immersive visualization as the intended uses.
CoViewer runs in English and Chinese. The download on CHCNAV's support portal is version 1.0.0, posted October 8 with sample data, and the company announced the viewer on X a day later. CHCNAV publishes no GPU requirement or scene size limit for the viewer.
CoViewer is available now as a free download for Windows 10 and 11.
