The Mountain West UAS has announced their next meeting, with short notice for tomorrow, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 9:00 AM MST via Zoom. The subject will but of course dive into the world of Radiance Fields.

Featured Speaker: David Romero

David Romero will be giving the talk and is one of the leading experts in 3D scene capture. He joined Luma AI, as one of the first employees and community Manager. He has recently begun working on Teleport at Varjo. He will take us through the latest advancements in Radiance Field representations, sich as. Gaussian Splatting. David actually has taken more captures than pretty much anyone that I know, well exceeding 10,000 by himself.

Romero also won NVIDIA's Instant NeRF competition, back in 2022.

David will share his complete UAS capture workflow, helping attendees understand the technology behind high-quality, immersive 3D environments. If you're a drone operator or curious about the rapidly expanding world of Radiance Fields, this is a must-attend event.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to effortlessly create stunning Radiance Fields, with methods like Gaussian Splatting.

  • Why Radiance Fields matter and how they are shaping industries

  • David's full UAS capture workflow from start to finish

  • Emerging trends in 3D scene capture and what’s next for the technology
