NEXIA Entertainment has launched NEXIA VIDEO, a commissioned service that reconstructs live performances as free viewpoint video using 4D gaussian splatting. The Tokyo company describes 3D Gaussian Splatting as handling the spatial reconstruction and 4D Gaussian Splatting as handling the change over time, with a performance shot from multiple camera positions and rebuilt so a viewer varies distance, position and angle during playback.
NEXIA Entertainment states that its own compression and decompression technique cuts point cloud data volume to an average of about one eighth and a maximum of about one tenth while holding image quality. The worked example the company publishes is 362 MB reduced to 41.6 MB. Strangely, many of the videos from the NEXIA webpage are from 4DV.ai.
NEXIA Entertainment claims roughly three years of research and development across capture method, data processing, compression, distribution and playback. The company was incorporated on March 10, 2026, with capital of one million yen as of July 2026.
The only sample on the NEXIA VIDEO page is a flat MP4 file, and no interactive viewer is published. Nothing states the delivery format, the codec, the splat count, the frame rate, or the camera count a shoot requires.
NEXIA DOME is the delivery half, combining dome screen projection with satellite viewing into restaurants, commercial facilities, event spaces and lodging around Japan. NEXIA Entertainment says it will commission work down to a single song or a single stage performance. The company advertises planning, shooting, distribution and ticketing as one in house pipeline, at what it calls an overwhelmingly low cost, without publishing a figure.
