The team at NUBIGON has just rolled out Version 7.2, marking their official entry into the world of radiance field representations like Gaussian Splatting with a renderer designed for high-performance visualization and cinematic output.
It incorporates built-in Level-of-Detail (LOD) handling, allowing users to seamlessly navigate enormous datasets without compromising performance or visual quality. Once you have a trained ply file, you can simply import it.
NUBIGON’s reputation for cinematic flythroughs also gets a boost in this version. Now, users can create smooth, high-fidelity camera paths through 3DGS data, resulting in photorealistic walkthroughs that feel both technically robust and visually polished.
For those generating Gaussian Splat models in tools like Postshot, there’s a quick adjustment needed to ensure correct model orientation in NUBIGON. After loading the splat file via the File > Open Gaussian Splats menu, simply select the model from the Object List, head to the Object Inspector, and set the Rotate X value to -90. This ensures that your splats display correctly without any additional post-processing.
Version 7.2 is available now and ready for download from the Nubigon website. While Nubigon is a paid product, they do offer a two week free trial. This is the latest entrant to the world of lifelike 3D and I am excited for NUBIGON to join the fray.
