Cloud Gaussian splat training without local GPU hardware
Updated
July 2026
Nebula Cloud is a GPU cloud platform that delivers preconfigured workbenches for engineering, AI, simulation and 3D work. The company now positions itself as an engineering execution platform spanning GPU orchestration, digital twins and sovereign deployments, with eleven domain workbenches on NVIDIA GPUs from T4 to H100 across AWS, Azure, GCP and private infrastructure.
Gaussian splatting arrived in December 2023, when Nebula Cloud unveiled a Gaussian Splatting Workbench built on nerfstudio's implementation, following an earlier workbench for NVIDIA's Instant NGP. At launch the service was available in India, Australia, Singapore, Sweden, Germany and the United States. A February 2024 Nebula Cloud guide walks through training with nerfstudio's splatfacto method, rendering camera paths and exporting splats to third party viewers such as Polycam and PlayCanvas, and recommends at least 250 GB of SSD storage.
Splatting now sits in the 3D & Immersive workbench, which lists nerfstudio and a 3DGS toolkit on an NVIDIA A100 with 40 GB of VRAM. The same workbench bundles Meshroom 2023 and COLMAP 3.9 for structure from motion, Blender 4.0, Three.js, Potree and CesiumJS for viewing, and CloudCompare, Open3D and PDAL for point cloud processing. Exports include PLY, OBJ, FBX, glTF, 3D Tiles, NeRF checkpoints and Gaussian splat files.
Billing is consumption based, charging for the time and resources used, according to the 2024 guide. Nebula Cloud does not publish current rates and routes pricing through its sales team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Nebula Cloud still support Gaussian splatting?
Nebula Cloud still supports Gaussian splatting. Its 3D & Immersive workbench lists nerfstudio and a 3DGS toolkit on an NVIDIA A100 with 40 GB of VRAM.
Do I need my own GPU to use Nebula Cloud?
Nebula Cloud runs training on cloud GPUs, so no local GPU is required. Its GPU tiers run from the NVIDIA T4 to the H100.
Which Gaussian splatting implementation does Nebula Cloud use?
Nebula Cloud's splatting workbench is built on nerfstudio, and its 2024 guide trains with nerfstudio's splatfacto method.
How is Nebula Cloud priced?
Nebula Cloud bills on consumption for the compute time and resources used. Current rates are not published and are quoted by its sales team.
