Turning consumer 360 footage into splat scenes for virtual production and robot simulation
Updated
July 2026
Splatica is a cloud service that reconstructs 3D Gaussian splat scenes from consumer 360 video. A capture is a single .INSV file recorded on an Insta360 camera or on the Antigravity A1 360 drone, uploaded through the browser and returned as an explorable scene without a manual reconstruction step. The company describes the pipeline as fully automatic, and the only user side work is the capture itself.
The output aims at two different downstream worlds from the same reconstruction. For virtual production and location scouting Splatica delivers scenes into Unreal Engine and Unity, which is the use the company was built around. For robotics it writes USD scenes carrying separate objects and a scene graph, with physics extracted by a vision language model and baked in as collision meshes, for import into NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Omniverse.
Object segmentation runs on the reconstructed scene, so individual objects can be extracted and swapped for known USD assets before the scene reaches a simulator. Camera intrinsics can be simulated in whatever format a downstream model expects, generating video for training vision language action models and SLAM systems. That is the argument Splatica makes for splats as synthetic training data rather than as a presentation format, and it is the reason the company now leads with physical AI rather than with virtual production.
Splatica is an Insta360 partner and appeared alongside the drone maker when Antigravity launched Project ETERNAL in April 2026. A public gallery of community scenes runs in the browser, including an interactive scan of an industrial factory in Turkey that exposes the underlying volumetric point cloud on a keypress. Splatica publishes no pricing page and no public commercial terms, and access runs through a sign up on its own site.
Frequently Asked Questions
What cameras does Splatica support?
Splatica takes footage from Insta360 360 cameras and from the Antigravity A1 360 drone, uploaded as the raw .INSV file the camera writes.
What can Splatica export to?
Splatica delivers scenes into Unreal Engine and Unity for virtual production work, and writes USD scenes carrying a scene graph and separate objects for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Omniverse.
Does Splatica require a local GPU?
Splatica runs reconstruction on its own servers, so no local GPU is needed to process a capture. Viewing a result in the browser needs a WebGL2 capable GPU.
How much does Splatica cost?
Splatica publishes no pricing page. Access runs through a sign up on splatica.com and commercial terms are not stated publicly.
What does Splatica do for robotics?
Splatica produces photorealistic environments for physical AI training, with object segmentation, collision meshes derived by a vision language model and simulated camera intrinsics, aimed at narrowing the gap between a simulated site and the real one.
