Polycam

A lot of people don't realize that you are able to export your Polycam data into formats readable by both Instant NGP and nerfstudio. Believe it or not, this has been available since last November.

So far, the Altadena based company has been sticking straight to LiDAR, photogrammetry, and their newly introduced 360 photos. If you follow Polycam's Co-founder, you might be noticing he's been infatuated by 3D Gaussian Splatting. Perhaps that will be the next feature implemented by the private company?

Previously, it was possible to export all of the original images and run COLMAP that way, but this is much more robust. As a note, you will need to have "Developer Mode" turned on. However, this is not the Apple developer mode, which can be a pain to go through. It's merely a setting within the Polycam app.

If you have a ton of data in Polycam already and have been wanting to give NeRFs a try, this might be the perfect opportunity for you. Check Polyform out here on their Github!

If there is a different NeRF format that you're looking to export into, they have their data specifications listed and offer the Instant NGP format as a template.
