Just before the weekend, there is a new Gaussian Splatting VR viewer. Splatapult is an open sourced MIT Licensed, 3D Gaussian Splatting renderer written in C++ and OpenGL.
Splatapult comes from Game/VR developer, Hyperlogic, and is the result for a desire to showcase and reproduce interesting spaces, without having to need expert 3D modeling skills. Gaussian Splatting inherently lent itself to that goal and thus produced Splatapult.
Splatapult is developed with OpenXR, meaning that all Oculus headsets or any headsets compatible with Steam will work. However, it should be mentioned that the headset will need to be connected to the computer for it to function as intended.
It is further compatible with Windows machines. Right now it has the source code listed on its Github page, but also has binaries for Windows, here.
Splatapult joins Gracia and Luma's WebGL platform for viewing Gaussian Splatting in VR.
