Following the release of Tripo 2.0 in September of last year, Tripo has rolled out a significant update to its WebApp, introducing several new features and changes aimed at improving user experience and functionality. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new in this release.

One of the key updates in this release is a change to API support. Tripo v1.3 and Tripo v1.4 Multi-View APIs are being retired, marking a shift toward the more advanced capabilities of the new system. While this may require some adjustment, the improved features and performance of the updated API promise to make the transition worthwhile.

The WebApp’s user interface has been completely reimagined. With its sleek, modern design, navigating through projects feels smoother and more intuitive than ever before. The updated UI is easy to interact with, and prompts still generate quickly— about fifteen seconds for four, in my experience.

A feature many users have eagerly awaited, face limit control offers the ability to set precise limits on the number of faces in a generated model. Whether you’re optimizing for performance or aiming for intricate detail, this tool gives you the flexibility to tailor your models to your specific needs. Export options currently include USD, FBX, OBJ, STL, GLB, and 3MF.

For those who rely on Tripo regularly, the new annual membership plan offers a more cost-effective option. With a 20% discount compared to the monthly plan, this membership is designed to provide better value for frequent users while maintaining access to all the platform’s features. Given the pace of research and development, deciding on the best option depends on your usage needs. The free tier for Tripo allows for roughly 24 generations per month, while the first annual paid tier is priced at $190.

Tripo is also now offering a referral program. Once a new user signs up and generates a model, both parties receive extra credits. Here is my link for people contemplating signing up!

There is also a coming soon on the website for larger scene generation, but there is no word on when that might be available to users. People can started on Tripo's website.
