AirVis Studio

AirVis Studio arrived on the Microsoft Store, a free Windows application from Rockland Technologies that converts video, 360 video and image folders into gaussian splats.

AirVis arrived a year ago as a cloud based mobile capture app, uploading a short video to Rockland's pipeline and returning a splat. Local mode processes source media entirely on the user's own machine, and Rockland states that no account, sign-in or internet access is required.

The Windows package is x64 at version 1.0.4.0, and requires a Vulkan 1.2 capable GPU with current drivers, DirectX 11 and 8 GB of memory, with 16 GB of memory and 6 GB of video memory recommended.

AirVis Studio bundles a Vulkan accelerated viewer that reads RAD, PLY, SPLAT, SPZ, KSPLAT, SOG and SSOG, covering both World Labs' chunked RAD container and PlayCanvas's streamed SSOG variant of SOG.

Inputs cover image folders, standard video, 360 video and COLMAP SfM. People masking and object isolation run before reconstruction, and export can generate voxel or mesh collision along with automatic level of detail. Rockland also ships an Apple Silicon build for macOS from airvisstudio.com, which lists AMD, Intel and NVIDIA GPUs next to Apple silicon.

Cloud Processing is an AirVis Pro feature, accepting up to 1,000 sorted images at 2048 pixels, standard video capped at the shorter of 15 minutes or 2,000 frames, and 360 video rendered as 16 square views per frame up to 14,400 images at 1024 pixels. Rockland's Studio page does not mention it, and no AirVis Pro price is published.

It is available now on the Microsoft Store.
