Gausser 1.0.0, a new Cinema 4D plugin from developer bezierking, imports Gaussian splats and animates them with MoGraph Fields, Effectors, Deformers and Forces.
Cinema 4D already has splat options. V-Ray 7 added Gaussian splatting support in Cinema 4D in January 2025, and Alpha Pixel's Gaussian Splat Studio arrived in March with Redshift and Standard or Physical render workflows. Gausser builds its whole workflow around MoGraph, driving splats with the same Fields, Effectors, Deformers and Forces used on geometry.
Gausser reads PLY, SPLAT and SPZ files, with controls for size, orientation, color space, tint and exposure. A feathered box or ellipsoid crop isolates part of a capture or produces ghosted, holographic looks. Viewport quality modes, interactive limits and filtering keep heavy scenes responsive.
Fields reveal, fade and isolate splats, and layered Fields can be animated to direct a reveal. Effectors move splats with Fields controlling their influence, and deformers bend, twist and reshape them. Gravity, Wind and Field Force add simulated motion, and evaluated frames can be baked into a RAM cache that switches between cached and live evaluation. Gausser also works with Cloner and the Cinema 4D transform tools, and a surface emission option creates a native Mesh Emitter and Particle Group tied to the visible splat surface.
Rendering runs on separate settings. According to the product page, Gausser "prepares geometry and materials" for Standard, Redshift, Octane and Arnold, with render density, size and opacity set independently of the viewport and an option to blend scene lighting with the original capture color. The included tutorial covers Octane setup only. What aescripts does not state is what form the render geometry takes, or whether any of the four engines draws the splats natively.
Modified splats export as Gaussian PLY, Point PLY, SPLAT or SPZ, carrying color, crop and linked effector changes.
Gausser requires Cinema 4D 2026 or later on Windows x64 or Apple Silicon Macs. A single user license costs $24.99, reduced to $19.99 until October 16, and a 14-day trial is offered. Gausser 1.0.0 is available now on aescripts.
