Job Summary

Huawei London Research Centre is looking at for a (Senior) Research Scientist with experience in 3D computer vision, neural rendering and graphics. We wish to recruit a candidate to conduct innovative research into dynamic 3D reconstruction, with an emphasis on digital humans that are expressive and controllable. Ideally, we are looking for a research scientist with expertise in 3D computer vision and graphics, especially with hands-on experience with e.g. neural rendering, gaussian splatting, head reconstruction, parametric head and body models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute cutting edge research for applications on dynamic 3d reconstruction and digital humans.

  • Contribute to academic publications, open-source and ecosystem building.

  • Design, prototype and patent innovative solutions in collaboration with product teams.

  • Supervise, collaborate and mentor other colleagues and academic collaborators

Person Specification:

Required:

1. PhD in computer science or a related field.

2. Experience in 3D computer vision.

3. Scientific publications in 3D vision or human/head reconstruction in top venues, e.g. CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML.

4. Experience coding in Python and PyTorch.

Desired:

1. Direct hands-on experience with neural rendering, gaussian splatting, and/or parametric head models. 

2.Experience designing and developing research projects.     

3. Experience with cloud computing (e.g. docker, Unix environments). 

4. Experience with head models, e.g. FLAME, AR Kit, and related trackers.
