Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Tempe, AZ that is looking for a Full Stack Developer to help build and scale geospatial and 3D data platforms that support mapping, indoor intelligence, and reality-capture workflows. The Full Stack Developer will work across the stack-from React based web applications to Node.js services and spatial databases-delivering performant, cloud native solutions on Azure. This role is ideal for an engineer who embraces an AI-native mindset towards software development and enjoys solving complex spatial problems, working with large datasets, and turning advanced data (maps, BIM, point clouds, splats) into intuitive digital twin experiences. Duties:
Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using React and Node.js
Build and optimize secure REST APIs (preferably with an API first approach)
supporting spatial queries and high-volume data access
Develop microservices or backend services that handle large scale geospatial data
processing
Model and query geospatial data using PostgreSQL and PostGIS
Develop interactive map and visualization experiences using Mapbox or equivalent
pen-source libraries
Work with cloud native infrastructure on Azure, deploying containerized services
Focus on optimizing map load times and ensuring performant, responsive user
experience in emergency scenarios
Integrate identity and access management (IAM) solutions (e.g. EntraID) to support
role-based access control (RBAC), and compliance with regulatory standards
Familiarity with attribute-based access control (ABAC) is a plus
Support ingestion and transformation of large spatial and 3D datasets
Collaborate closely with product, design, and domain experts to deliver production
ready features
Curiosity around spatial data, 3D, containerization, and AI-enabled workflows
Comfort working in evolving problem spaces and adapting to the challenges
Requirements
Strong experience in JavaScript/TypeScript
Production experience with React on the front end
Backend development experience with Node.js
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization
Familiarity with PostGIS or spatial data concepts
Experience integrating and working with Mapbox (or similar web mapping libraries)
Working knowledge of Azure cloud services
Familiarity with API-first development approaches and building secure REST APIs optimized for spatial data
Experience developing microservices or modular services for geospatial applications
Working knowledge of containerization technologies and container deployment
Understanding of AI fundamentals and how AI driven features are integrated into modern applications
Experience using Git-based workflows and collaborating in a team environment, and following gitOps best practices
Commitment to continuous learning and innovation, especially in cloud-native and AI-native software development
Nice To Have
Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
Familiarity with Jira and GitHub including but not limited to GitHub Actions and Codespace
Exposure to large or complex datasets (-big data- environments)
Knowledge of BIM workflows and formats (e.g., IFC)
Experience working with point clouds, Gaussian splats, or other 3D data representations
Understanding of web-based 3D rendering or visualization techniques
Understanding of microservices or service-oriented architecture and best practices
in scalable service design Tech Stack:

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
