Job Description
As a Research Scientist – Robotics AI, you will contribute to research projects at the forefront of autonomous driving, robotics, and embodied AI.
Responsibilities
Conduct research and engineering in core AI and machine learning disciplines to enable embodied AI applications across autonomous driving, ADAS, industrial automation, and robotics.
Advance AI-powered robotics by incorporating large vision-language-action models to improve reasoning capabilities and explainability.
Collaborate with global research and engineering teams to ensure effective technology transfer and system integration.
Translate research innovations into real-world solutions and production-ready systems.
Stay at the forefront of innovation through active participation in conferences, workshops, and technical communities.
Publish research findings and contribute to patent development.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field; or a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
Minimum of 3 years of R&D experience or equivalent graduate research experience in AI technologies, including computer vision and robotic or automotive motion and behavior planning.
Proficiency in one or more machine learning programming languages, including:
Python
C++
Rust
Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Hands-on experience with reinforcement learning for behavior planning, motion planning, or related applications.
Familiarity with reinforcement learning algorithms, including:
PPO
DQN
DDPG
Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
Strong publication record in leading machine learning, robotics, deep learning, or computer vision conferences and journals.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing and deploying real-world autonomous systems.
Experience building and applying multimodal transformer-based sequence-to-sequence models, particularly vision-language-action models.
Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
Multimodal Transformers
Multimodal Language Models
Diffusion Models
Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF)
Gaussian Splatting
Object Detection and Segmentation
3D Scene Understanding
Sensor Calibration
Structure-from-Motion (SfM)

Compensation & Benefits
California Salary Range: $165,000 – $185,000 USD
Additional compensation includes:
