Work Environment

Applied Intuition is an in-office company. Employees are expected to work primarily from their assigned office five days per week.

The company also recognizes the importance of flexibility and trusts employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, beginning the day with meetings from home before commuting to the office, or adjusting schedules to accommodate personal and family commitments.

About the Role

We are seeking a senior-level engineer with strong expertise in:

  • Real-time rendering systems

  • Neural graphics and neural scene representations

  • High-performance C++ and CUDA development

  • CPU and GPU optimization

This role sits at the intersection of traditional graphics engines and neural rendering systems, with a focus on scaling performance for large, real-time simulation workloads.

Engineers at Applied Intuition are expected to:

  • Own technically complex systems end-to-end

  • Make architecture-level decisions

  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders

  • Influence product direction and engineering culture

What You'll Do

  • Own the development and optimization of neural rendering systems, including 3D Gaussian-based scene representations and other learned scene representations across multiple products and sensor modalities.

  • Design and scale GPU pipelines using CUDA for neural scene training, inference, and real-time rasterization.

  • Optimize data layouts, memory movement, synchronization strategies, and GPU kernel performance.

  • Architect and optimize multi-threaded C++ systems for scene management, streaming, scheduling, and CPU-side orchestration of neural and hybrid rendering workloads.

  • Research, prototype, and productionize state-of-the-art neural rendering and reconstruction techniques.

  • Integrate neural rendering outputs with existing simulation and rendering infrastructure, including physically based rendering (PBR) components where appropriate.

  • Build internal tooling, benchmarking systems, profiling infrastructure, and CI-based performance regression tracking for neural rendering pipelines.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of industry or research experience in neural rendering, neural 3D simulation, graphics, computer vision, or performance-critical GPU systems.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Hands-on experience with neural scene representations, including:

    • 3D Gaussian Splatting

    • Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs)

    • Learned volumetric representations

    • Learned surface representations

  • Strong GPU programming skills, including CUDA and/or shader development.

  • Deep understanding of CPU-GPU coordination for training and inference workloads.

  • Strong experience optimizing multi-threaded C++ applications, including:

    • Task systems

    • Synchronization

    • Memory management

    • Cache optimization

  • Strong performance debugging, profiling, and system optimization skills across both CPU and GPU environments.

Preferred Qualifications
