Senior Perception and Localization Engineer

At Raise Robotics, we’re building robots that work where people shouldn’t. Our team has successfully deployed machines into real construction sites and factories, working every day. We’re now building our next generation platform to help build some of the largest structures in the world - think buildings, ships, energy generation plants, and more.

We’re looking for team members who enjoy touch technical challenges and want to make an impact. You’ll have the opportunity to travel to customer sites and see our machines working out in sites all across the world.

For this role, we are seeking a Perception and Localization Engineer who will develop intelligent software which creates and maintains a persistent internal state of the world onboard the robots.

What we’re looking for:

• At least 4 years of experience working on localization, mapping, and perception problems.

• Strong foundation in SLAM, probabilistic localization, 3D reconstruction, and navigation algorithms

• Expertise working with 3D visual data (point clouds, meshes, etc.) and state of the art neural representations - Gaussian Splats, NeRFs, etc.

• Familiarity with sensor fusion and state estimation (e.g., EKF, UKF, particle filters)

• Hands-on experience with real robot systems—ground, legged, or aerial platforms

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain real-time mapping, localization, and navigation software for mobility robotic systems

• Implement 3D scene representations using cutting-edge techniques such as 3D Gaussian Splatting, NeRFs, and other neural or volumetric methods

• Validate mapping and localization systems in both simulation and real-world testing, tuning performance for maximum accuracy.

• Develop ML models for estimating depth from cameras and for detecting obstacles on RGB data.
