Advanced Manufacturing
At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
This job opportunity is available at ANY location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a JACOBS U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the "best" candidates.
Help make 4D a working part of construction planning.
We’re looking for a VDC 4D Coordinator who understands construction, enjoys solving problems, and wants to help unify models and schedules to inform strategy and accelerate the re-industrialization of the country.
Our team’s ambition is to make 4D as essential to construction planning as clash detection is in coordination. We build simulations that help teams visualize and evaluate sequencing, understand constraints, compare approaches, and prepare for execution. We’re also expanding into 5D, connecting model quantities, schedules, and cost information to support more informed planning.
You’ll work across multiple projects, collaborate with an international delivery team, and help improve the tools and processes behind our work. This role combines hands-on production with room to experiment: deliver useful work today while helping us build better ways to deliver it tomorrow.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain 4D models that connect 3D model elements with construction schedules using SYNCHRO 4D Pro or comparable tools.
Prepare/structure/vet model data, including Revit parameters and element coding, to support reliable schedule linking and efficient updates.
Work with project teams to understand construction methods, evaluate sequencing, and identify schedule conflicts, constraints, risks, and opportunities.
Create clear simulations, visualizations, and presentations that support planning discussions and communicate construction strategy.
Keep models and deliverables current as designs, schedules, and project priorities change. Pivot between projects as needed.
Coordinate work with an international delivery team, setting clear priorities, providing useful handoffs, and reviewing deliverable quality.
Improve repeatable workflows, troubleshoot data integration issues, and test tools and automation that improve speed, accuracy, or usefulness.
Help develop 5D workflows that connect model quantities, schedule activities, and estimating or cost data.
Share knowledge and help project teams use 4D effectively in their planning and execution.
Here's what you'll need
2 or more years of relevant BIM/VDC experience, including hands-on work with 4D modeling or construction sequencing.
Working proficiency in a 4D platform such as SYNCHRO or Fuzor, along with experience using Revit and/or Navisworks.
Understanding of construction schedules, including activity relationships, sequencing, and how schedules connect to model elements. Experience working with Primavera P6 schedule data is valuable.
Experience organizing model information through Revit parameters, element coding, or comparable data management methods. Assemble experience is a plus.
Ability to explain technical information clearly, collaborate across disciplines and time zones, and manage priorities across multiple projects.
Curiosity and a demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar tools, troubleshoot problems, and follow through on detailed work.
Working knowledge of AI tools, reusable skills, and agents for workflow optimization, technical problem-solving, and creative use-cases.
Ideally, you'll have:
Estimating, quantity takeoff, cost planning, or 5D model integration.
Additional planning and visualization platforms, including cmBuilder, Fuzor, or similar tools.
Workflow automation, scripting, AI-assisted tools such as Codex, or data analytics and reporting.
Lean Construction methods and collaborative planning.
Reality capture, including LiDAR scanning, drone capture, or Gaussian splat capture and processing.
FAA Part 107 certification.
Video editing, videography, or other visual storytelling skills.
A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
What You’ll Help Build
Beyond individual project deliverables, you’ll help establish practical, repeatable ways to use 4D—and increasingly 5D—in everyday project work. We’re looking for someone who wants to produce strong work, learn from project teams, and help move the practice forward.
Have a 4D simulation, workflow improvement, or project example you’re proud of? We’d welcome a portfolio link.
