KIRI Engine has released a small but important update to its free 3DGS Blender plugin, focused on restoring compatibility with recent API changes introduced in Blender 5.
According to the team, updates in Blender’s rendering and mesh APIs had broken Render + Mesh compositing workflows in earlier versions of the plugin. This latest release resolves those issues, allowing Gaussian splats and traditional mesh content to once again be composited together as expected inside Blender.
The update also addresses several path related issues reported by macOS users, which were preventing assets and renders from resolving correctly on some systems. These fixes should improve stability for Mac-based Blender workflows, particularly when working across different project directories.
While this release does not introduce new features, it continues KIRI Engine’s steady cadence of maintaining the Blender plugin as Blender itself evolves.
The plugin remains free and open source, and is available via the Blender Market and GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license.
