Linker Vision announced an ESG AI agent on October 14 that plans urban tree planting on a city digital twin built with 3D Gaussian Splatting.
The agent combines environmental predictions with AI reasoning to assess urban heat and shade coverage, then guide tree planting and greenery management. The company developed it with MVRDV, the Dutch architecture and urban design firm, which contributed scientific data, shaped the evaluation criteria the agent uses, and tested it during development. The two companies are also collaborating on the digital twin, which supports predictions of urban heat island effects and shade coverage.
The workflow pairs the splat twin with NVIDIA accelerated computing and AI software. In Linker Vision's description, Omniverse libraries and OpenUSD unify city, tree and environmental data into a single scene, Nemotron reasoning models let users run planting scenarios and optimize shade in natural language, and the Metropolis Blueprint for video search and summarization and the Cosmos open world foundation model help interpret video and real world conditions.
In the urban forest pilot, the agent identifies heat hotspots, selects suitable tree species, and simulates shade and temperature over a 15 year span in minutes. Linker Vision says the pilot projects shade coverage rising from 15.7% to more than 50% within 15 years.
Linker Vision does not name the pilot city, say how the twin was captured, or explain how the splats are represented in the OpenUSD scene. OpenUSD 26.03 added native gaussian splat support in February, though Linker Vision does not say whether it uses that schema. An October 13 NVIDIA blog post on European city deployments lists Linker Vision among its software partners and carries a video credited to Linker Vision and MVRDV.
Linker Vision designs the city twin as a common foundation for government agencies, with pedestrian flow analysis and preparation of venues for major sporting events named as later applications. The ESG agent is available now for urban forest planning, according to Linker Vision.
