The Pixel Lab is an online shop and training resource for 3D and motion design artists, trading as The Pixel Lab LLC. Founder Joren Kandel started the site almost 15 years ago to help motion design artists, and it sells products alongside tutorials and freebies. The studio has long sold Cinema 4D material and model packs, and its Gaussian splatting line delivers ready made assets as .ply files.

The splat line began with the 25 asset Gaussian Splat Clouds Pack. The Gemstones pack followed in June 2026 with 30 gemstone assets in materials including vanadinite, marcasite, emerald, pyrite, ruby, clear quartz and smoky quartz. It needs about 7 GB of drive space and launched at $39, with a $29 introductory price.

Davy Jones's Locker, released in October 2026, holds more than 100 pirate themed splat assets and needs 21 GB. The set covers treasure chests, gold bars, coins, crowns, compasses and sextants, skulls and skeletons, flintlock pistols, swords, cannons, anchors, lanterns, ship debris and kraken and abyssal creature pieces, and The Pixel Lab made it with Spenser Dickerson. Cinema 4D and OctaneRender users also get a preset .c4d scene with an underwater caustics shader written in OSL and a textured ocean floor, set up so the splats can be dragged onto the seabed. The pack sells for $69.

The Pixel Lab says its splat assets work out of the box in OctaneRender and Blender, and in most other applications through third party plugins, including After Effects with a Gaussian splat plugin. The stated requirement is any application that reads .ply. The product pages do not list splat counts, per asset file sizes or how the objects were captured or generated. The Pixel Lab pitches the packs as set dressing that adds dense prop detail without the render time cost of equivalent polygonal models, sells them directly through its website and backs each with a 60 day money back guarantee.
