Luma AI

Luma was the first cloud based consumer Radiance Field platform back in late 2022.

Through the introduction of their generative platform, Dream Machine, Luma saw a massive influx of users, flying well past one million users in four days and continued to grow exponentially from there.

As Dream Machine’s popularity soared, queue times for the Capture feature on Luma increased from 15 minutes to a day, then to a week. Currently, it appears this functionality has been disabled on both the mobile app and desktop versions.

The Luma team has yet to confirm whether existing captures will continue to be accessible. For now, they remain available, though it may be wise to start proactively downloading and exporting your captures as a precaution.

For those seeking user-friendly, cloud-based Radiance Field platforms, alternative tools such as Polycam and Kiri Engine are likely your best options. iOS and Android users can also consider Scaniverse.
