Just a few months after entering open beta, Reflct is back with a substantial update to its 3DGS viewer. One that refines the user experience while unlocking new possibilities for how creators present and guide exploration through their scenes. This Viewer 2.0 release introduces a fresh interface, enhanced mobile compatibility, and powerful new features that make navigation more intuitive and presentation more dynamic.
What’s really exciting is its new tools for layered storytelling and interaction. Viewer 2.0 introduces clickable hotspots. These visual markers within a scene allow users to jump between predefined viewpoints. They can be turned on or off per view, offering creators full control over the flow of exploration.
Additionally added are content overlays. When a view includes additional context, say, a product description, link, or call to action, it can now be displayed directly within the viewer as a styled overlay.
These overlays are optional and work independently of hotspots, giving creators the flexibility to add rich content wherever it's needed.
Another powerful feature is scene linking, which allows creators to connect multiple scenes together for seamless exploration across related spaces. It’s especially useful in real estate applications, where different rooms or areas might be captured as separate 3DGS scenes. With scene linking, viewers can jump between them effortlessly and enjoy a more cohesive, guided experience across larger environments.
The viewer UI has been redesigned from scratch to prioritize clarity and ease of use, removing unnecessary visual noise and guiding focus to the content itself.
The mobile experience, in particular, benefits from significant updates to its design, layout and usability, making Reflct scenes easier to explore on smaller screens without sacrificing functionality.
Another notable change is how viewers handle resizing. Previously, resizing was toggled via a share modal setting. With Viewer 2.0, it’s much more fluid. Users can now simply drag the edges of the viewer to adjust its size. The default aspect ratio has also been updated to 4:3, offering a more consistent experience across desktop and mobile displays. Of course, creators can still customize the aspect ratio in the share modal when needed.
All features are currently available at no cost through Reflct’s open beta, with native website integration supported via their official React package.
