SimActive has added online sharing of gaussian splats to Correlator3D, which can now publish splat models directly to a connected Cesium account.
Correlator3D gained gaussian splatting as a native output in Version 11, announced in April, reconstructing splats from large aerial datasets alongside its survey grade deliverables.
The new feature runs through a Cesium account integration. Once the account is linked, a user starts sharing from inside Correlator3D and the software publishes the gaussian splat to that account automatically.
Cesium added KHR_gaussian_splatting support to CesiumJS and Cesium for Unreal in March, then brought hierarchical level of detail for splats to 3D Tiles, CesiumJS, Cesium for Unreal and Cesium ion in April, streaming splat datasets from city scale down to sub centimeter detail.
Louis Simard, CTO at SimActive, said, "One of the greatest advantages of Gaussian splats is how intuitive they are to view and explore. They are ideal for presenting 3D results to a broader audience, and this new integration makes sharing them simple and efficient."
SimActive does not state which Correlator3D version carries the feature, or which Cesium service or plan the connected account requires.
SimActive announced the feature on October 5.
