Daniel Skaale has shown Omnia Splat Builder, a pipeline he says turns a single still image into a 360 degree Gaussian splat without manual steps.
Skaale is a technical artist and a partner at the Copenhagen studio Khora Virtual Reality, and he builds Unity splat tools under the Simulacrum name, where Splat Box Editor for Unity now ships with full source code. Omnia Splat Builder is a separate project, and so far it exists only in his posts on X.
The pipeline runs from still to optimized still to 360 degree orbit to clean splat. A one click step first prepares the image by centering the subject, leveling the camera, leaving room to orbit, sharpening detail and reducing glare. An AI video model then generates an orbit around the subject, he says, and that footage is turned into a splat and cleaned in post-processing.
Skaale's September 27 post reports nearly 1 million Gaussians from 61 camera views, reached in 12,000 training steps on 3.86 GB of VRAM. He added that he is still pushing the pipeline further.
Single image splat generation already has several entrants, with TripoSplat, SHARP and TRELLIS each producing splats from one picture and TACTYC's Onesplat doing the same inside Houdini. Those tools generate the splat directly from the image. Skaale's pipeline instead synthesizes a camera orbit first, so the reconstruction step works from dozens of generated views.
Omnia is also the name of Skaale's public Omnia AI Video Editor web app, which already generates splats through third party services, World Labs Marble for .spz output and TripoSplat via fal.ai for .ply. The Splat Builder does not appear in that app.
Skaale shared the latest demo on X on October 7, and no public release, pricing or output formats have been announced.
