Nodeconnector has released the Gaussian Splat Cleanup HDA, a free modular Houdini SOP for cleaning raw 3D Gaussian splats before they are baked.

SideFX shipped native gaussian splat support in Houdini 22, with procedural nodes handling cleanup of a trained splat set. Nodeconnector's companion tutorial, runs the same problem from hand written VEX wrangles up to a packaged asset. CG Nomads' GSOPs covers Houdini splat import, rendering and relighting.

Eight modules sit inside the node, covering duplicate detection, an alpha filter for low opacity noise, a scale and area filter for oversized or degenerate splats, neighbor count floater removal, an adaptive density aware statistical floater pass, a hue filter, hole fill, and an orientation check that flags rotation outliers by quaternion deviation. Each module toggles independently, so a single step can be isolated and previewed on its own.

Nodeconnector states the hue filter is computed from f_dc, and that hole fill performs a weighted attribute transfer across all 45 spherical harmonics channels. A built in stats panel reports how many points each module affects before the cleanup is committed.

The Gaussian Splat Cleanup HDA ships as nc_gsplat_cleanup.hdalc, a Limited Commercial asset created with a Houdini Indie license, and Nodeconnector states it works in Indie and Commercial and is not compatible with Apprentice. The HDA requires Houdini 22 or newer and works with the native GSplat point attributes, opacity, scale, f_dc, f_rest, and rotation quaternions.

The listing carries no version string and no release or update date, and the product does not appear on Nodeconnector's own Gumroad storefront, which lists nine Cinema 4D, After Effects and Houdini products and no splat tools. The download is the HDA plus a README with install instructions and a module overview.

It is available now, pay what you want.
