Over the first half of this year, there has been a surprisingly small amount of new training platforms that have been released, but that changes with the recent release and continual updates that have been coming out of Parallax. It’s a new reconstruction platform from Neil Akalwadi.
Like many platforms, Parallax is powered by Gaussian Splatting, but seeks to go a step further than some existing options, providing editing capabilities, such as editing or cropping.
Parallax is cloud based, meaning that you neither need a capable GPU to process your captures nor wrangle with complex software installations. There are various pricing tiers available, depending on what you’re looking for, but they do have a free tier.
Excitingly Parallax also offers the capability to publish your scenes and easily embed them into React projects using a lightweight react component.
Want to try Parallax yourself? Head to Parallax’s website to start creating your own Gaussian Splat-powered scans today.
