VoxaVerse builds Vortex, a browser viewer that streams 4D Gaussian splat scenes and decodes local splat files without uploading them.
Platform
Browser (WebGL2, optional WebGPU), with WebXR entry offered where the device reports support
GPU
None published. Vortex renders in the browser on WebGL2 by default and offers WebGPU compute culling and sorting as an opt in, so a WebGL2 class GPU is the floor. VoxaVerse measured a mean 151 FPS on an Apple M3 Pro rendering the cook_spinach scene from Neural 3D Video. No local GPU is needed for reconstruction because the Solve tool has not shipped

Viewing 4D Gaussian splat scenes in a browser
Updated

VoxaVerse is a volumetric capture company building a pipeline that runs from a ring of time synchronized phones through to a browser viewer, and one part of that pipeline has shipped. Vortex is a live browser viewer for 4D Gaussian splat scenes, and it is what renders the company's own hero scene on the front page of its site. The remaining four products, Beacon for iPhone capture, Relay for iPad direction, Prism as a macOS solve studio and a native Apple Vision Pro viewer, are all listed as coming.
Vortex streams a full temporal Gaussian scene into a browser tab with no application install and no player download. It reads the company's own .nx4d and .nxs4 stream formats alongside PLY, SPZ, SOG, glTF and GLB, .splat, .ksplat, and USDZ and USDA. A scene opened from local disk is decoded entirely in the browser, and the viewer exposes no upload endpoint, so a file dragged into it never leaves the machine.
Rendering defaults to WebGL2 and offers WebGPU compute culling and sorting as an opt in rather than a requirement. WebXR entry is feature detected, so a VR or AR button appears only where the device reports support. VoxaVerse publishes a per device support matrix and degrades to a slower scene rather than to a blank canvas where the GPU cannot keep up.
The figures VoxaVerse publishes are dated and attributed to its own instrumentation. It reports a mean 151 frames per second on an Apple M3 Pro rendering cook_spinach from the Neural 3D Video dataset, five seconds of free viewpoint 4D delivered as a single 36 megabyte stream with time included rather than as per frame files, and roughly a 95 percent reduction in delivery size against raw PLY. Five multi camera scenes solved end to end on one laptop in between one hour twenty seven minutes and one hour fifty nine minutes, wall clocked from the solve button rather than from an engine harness. The company flags any figure it has not seen independently reproduced.
The hero scene on the site is the athlete capture from the ViVo dataset published by Azzarelli and colleagues at the University of Bristol in 2025, licensed CC BY 4.0 and reconstructed as 4D Gaussians by VoxaVerse from fourteen cameras. The company notes that the source capture carries motion blur. Every scene the pipeline produces is stated to export to PLY, SPZ, SOG, glTF and OpenUSD, which is the same ratified glTF splat extension Khronos published in February 2026 and the OpenUSD splat schema that followed in March.
