Postshot, the local training platform for Gaussian Splatting, has released a new pre-release update (v0.6.202) that introduces support for AprilTags, allowing users to align their scenes using physical markers with greater precision.
To use this new feature, you can begin by either training a new model or opening an existing one. From there, navigate to the "Image Set" section and open the new AprilTags panel. Select the tag family used during capture, Standard41h12 is recommended by default, then press "Detect" to scan for tags. Once the tags are identified, head over to the "Rdnc Field" section, choose the tag ID, set its relative orientation, and finalize the alignment by clicking "Align to AprilTag."
This update also brings a new Image Mask Mode during import, along with more forgiving handling of mask filenames, now tolerating the .mask
extension.
Postshot continues to be free to use during its beta period and is available exclusively for Windows systems with an NVIDIA GPU. The latest build can be downloaded directly from the official site, and ongoing updates and support can be found on the Postshot Discord.
