World Labs has opened gaussian splat creation to customers, in Marble Studio and through a new beta task in its Developer API.
When World Labs announced Atlas in September, the model already wrote scenes out as splats, but access ran through select early access partners. In Marble Studio, the Atlas Preview is now called Viewfinder, and a Create splats option turns Atlas views into a splat in about 20 minutes for 5,000 credits, with downloads in SPZ or PLY.
The API task, posedImages2Splats, extends the developer access World Labs first opened to Marble in January and is listed as a Marble 2 beta endpoint. The task reconstructs splats from posed RGBD images, then refines them by rendering new views, cleaning them up and training the splats against them. A refined run costs 5,000 credits ($5), a draft run with refine set to false costs 500 credits ($0.50), and failed runs are free, at a beta conversion of 1,000 credits per US dollar.
The posedImages2Splats task accepts as few as two ordered frames, each pairing an image and its camera with a linear depth EXR, and every image must share one size. The images2PosedRGBD task supplies cameras and depth from photographs, and Atlas can return depth with its generated views. For a single room, World Labs recommends starting with 8 to 16 overlapping views sharing roughly half their content with their neighbors, and its guide flags skies, foliage, plain walls, windows, thin structures and faces as features that can reconstruct poorly.
A posedImages2Splats run usually takes 10 to 20 minutes, so clients poll the operation, call its wait method or pass a webhookUrl. The refinedSplats result maps each published splat count to an SPZ file, which the splats2Mesh task can convert to a mesh. World Labs published version 0.3.0 of its @worldlabsai/cli package on npm on October 29, requiring Node 22 or later.
The release also adds Frameboy sessions in Marble Studio, which run up to a minute for 250 credits and are free under five seconds, along with a hosted MCP server and Atlas for Blender 0.1.2, which requires Blender 5.3, still in beta until November 4. World Labs says Atlas generation is now up to five times cheaper, at 40 credits for a first frame and 8 for each additional frame, or 50 and 10 with depth.
Splat creation in Marble is available now in beta.
