Just weeks after the official commercial launch of Lixel CyberColor Studio 1.7, XGRIDS has rolled out version 1.8, introducing a set of precision-driven upgrades aimed at improving scene detail, indoor spatial analysis, and drone-ground fusion workflows.

The update, now available to all existing LCC Studio users, builds on XGRIDS' hybrid approach that combines SLAM-based scanning with 3D Gaussian Splatting, further strengthening its appeal across architecture, real estate, engineering, and spatial planning sectors.

A standout feature in version 1.8 is the HD Enhancement tool, which allows users to add high resolution DSLR or smartphone images to targeted parts of a scan. This is especially useful in scenes involving artwork, dense interiors, façade ornamentation, or other areas where visual precision matters. The integration is automated, requiring minimal manual alignment, and fits neatly into existing LCC workflows.

For users working on interior environments, version 1.8 introduces Smart Floor Plan, a new capability that automatically detects and extracts spatial components, such as walls, windows, and doors during indoor scan processing. This feature not only accelerates floor plan creation but also provides a clean starting point for space planning and BIM tasks.

XGRIDS has also enhanced its Aerial Ground Map Fusion tool, allowing users to combine drone-based aerial imagery with ground-level scanning data for more complete 3D models. The result is a unified spatial representation that merges wide-angle overhead views with high detail textures from the ground.

LCC’s Digital Avatar feature has also received a user experience boost. In version 1.8, avatars can now be guided through a scene using one click pathfinding, users simply select a destination point in the model and the avatar automatically navigates to it.

This improvement streamlines virtual walkthroughs, making it easier for teams to preview spatial layouts, share context remotely, or guide stakeholders through reconstructed environments without manual controls.

XGRIDS has positioned Lixel CyberColor Studio as a rapidly evolving platform in the growing field of spatial computing. With version 1.8, the company is delivering incremental but meaningful improvements that support real-world workflows, from interior design to site planning.

Although still early in the lifecycle of commercial 3D Gaussian Splatting adoption, XGRIDS’ continued updates suggest an intent to set a faster innovation pace than is typical for spatial capture tools.

Lixel CyberColor Studio 1.8 is available now for all licensed users. Additional platform and developer support materials can be accessed via XGRIDS’ official website. For business inquiries, contact me at contact@radiancefields.com.
