Ronski has released 360 Splat Pro v1.5.0, which adds a Trim Source section for setting in and out points before frame extraction.
The Windows tool, which prepares 360 footage for gaussian splatting, launched in April and added 360 plus perspective camera fusion in v1.4.0. v1.4.9 began measuring the fisheye lens center from footage last month.
Trim Source sits in the Extract tab and places a filmstrip of the video's own keyframes under a range slider, with an optional side by side view of both fisheye lenses. Arrow keys step one keyframe, Home and End snap to the ends, and I and O set the points. Only the trimmed range is extracted. Trimming covers equirect MP4 and MOV, raw .insv and .osv, dual fisheye, stacked Qoocam sources, and multicam rigs, where each camera keeps its own trim. Thumbnails are GPU decoded and cached.
A new Method dropdown adds Keyframes extraction beside the default Interval mode. Keyframes pulls only the encoder's keyframes in one pass, which Ronski describes as "seconds instead of minutes", at around 0.5 fps on X5 footage. Ronski positions it as a scouting pass to check that a capture aligns before a full extraction. Extraction now records each frame's true source timestamp.
The sharp frames filter carries the larger fixes. Its search window for a sharper replacement was measured in extraction intervals, so at 1 fps a setting of 6 searched 3 seconds either side, which Ronski puts at more than four meters of travel for a walking operator. The window now counts video frames, so 6 means 3 frames either side. Ronski advises re-running moving camera projects that used replace with sharper.
Replacement on dual fisheye footage filled the back frame with a copy of the front, and Ronski states that projects processed this way should be re-extracted. Frames are now removed as front and back pairs, and multicam replacement no longer fails with a "cannot isolate lens" message.
A "Skip extraction (use existing frames)" checkbox lets Batch All run sharpness analysis and filtering across every camera without re-extracting. Auto Filter now works in Replace mode as well as Remove, and multicam reports save under the correct camera name.
360 Splat Pro v1.5.0 is available now for $44.99 on Windows.
