After launching with macOS and web support earlier this summer, ANNX Studio has officially arrived on Windows with the release of version 1.0.3. For those with NVIDIA GPUs and Windows 11, this version brings not only a smoother experience but also a brand new high performance preset called Xsplat, designed specifically for more intensive processing.

The Windows release marks a major milestone for EMX and the ANNX team. While macOS support helped open the door to creators and researchers who typically get left out of GPU intensive pipelines, this new version taps into the raw horsepower of RTX cards, giving users with serious rigs a new tool to push the limits.

Exclusive to the Windows version (for now), Xsplat is a new beta preset mode aimed at processing captures with a large number of input images or frames. Annx Studio's guidance is to use at least a 4090, which comes with 24GB of VRAM, but it's unclear yet how much power XSplat takes to process. It may require longer processing times, but offers greater fidelity and scale. If you've been looking for a way to test more ambitious datasets, this might be your new go to. We'll be checking closely how it compares to using Postshot or gsplat. I am currently running a capture through the preset right now and it's occupying ~17GB of VRAM early in the training loop.

Beyond the Windows build and Xsplat mode, this release includes a handful of UI and stability upgrades. You can now see how many input sources you've loaded, get pop up menus when right-clicking on inputs or result items, and use a new alignment check tool to verify your data before training. The viewer and interface have both been improved, and overall system stability has been enhanced.

The Windows version is available now at annx.studio, with NVIDIA GPU support and Windows 11 required. While ANNX Studio is still early in its lifecycle, it’s shaping up to be one an approachable and complete platform for working with Gaussian Splatting. More coverage to come!
