EMX has released ANNX AI Editor v1.8.0, which adds rain, snow and wind to gaussian splatting scenes in the browser.
The Seoul company is better known for ANNX Studio, its desktop trainer for macOS and Windows, which added 360 photo project creation in v1.1.11. ANNX AI Editor is a separate tool and still carries a beta label. Its existing features include AI editing from text prompts, sunlight and moonlight relighting, a slider that auto-aligns and compares two scans, and particle entrance effects.
ANNX AI Editor v1.8.0 adds an Environment panel with Sky & Sun, Precipitation and Wind sections. Precipitation is set to none, rain or snow, with controls for Intensity from 0 to 1, Fall Speed from 0.1x to 3x, and Particle Size. The editor draws precipitation as a screen effect inside a fixed volume around the camera, and the scan data itself is not changed.
Wind behaves differently. ANNX AI Editor sways only the gaussians inside wind regions, which are drawn with the sphere or box selection tool around the part that should move, such as a tree. Strength sets the base sway amplitude in world units on a 0 to 1 scale, defaulting to 0.25, and gusts push it to roughly double. Direction runs from 0 to 360 degrees with a default of 45, alongside Speed and a Gustiness control that ranges from steady air to strong gusts. With no region drawn, wind only tilts the falling rain or snow, by up to 45 degrees.
The weather applies to image and video exports only and is not included in exported viewers. Imports cover PLY, SOG as a file or folder, SPZ, SPLAT, KSplat and LCC, along with GLB and glTF models and video or images placed as planes. Scenes export as PLY, Splat, SOG or SPZ, or through Publish and an HTML viewer export.
A captured street can now be rendered to video in falling snow, with the trees inside a wind region swaying in gusts.
ANNX AI Editor v1.8.0 is available now in the browser, free during its beta.
