NVIDIA has published a full roll-call of the robotaxi programs building on its three computer stack, naming more than twenty operators, developers and automakers.
Omniverse NuRec reconstruct real world driving scenarios from sensor data while Cosmos world foundation models generate physically based variations of them. NuRec is a set of 3D gaussian splatting libraries that ingest real sensor data to reconstruct and render interactive simulation in OpenUSD, rendering through the open source gsplat libraries and utilizing 3DGUT. NuRec reached general availability on NGC in March.
The simulation tier runs Omniverse and Cosmos on RTX PRO Servers, with the AlpaSim framework extending the workflow to training and evaluating reasoning based driving models. AlpaSim arrived at CES, and the developer page lists it as one of three NuRec integration targets with Isaac Sim and CARLA, which added NuRec support in V0.9.16.
Almost every major robotaxi program operating at commercial scale today is running on its modular stack. Even Tesla trains its autonomous driving neural networks on NVIDIA supercomputers. The future of autonomous vehicles leveraging Physical AI workflows and simulation is bright, with NVIDIA citing a Goldman Sachs projection of $400 billion by 2035, with more than 6 million commercial vehicles in operation.
Uber, which plans to reach 28 cities by 2028, to Zoox, Lucid, Nuro, Pony.ai, Wayve, Mercedes-Benz, Lyft, Bolt, May Mobility, Momenta, Waabi, Autobrains, Tensor, DeepRoute.ai, Stellantis, Geely, Zeekr and Nissan are all participants in this scale out. DRIVE Hyperion 10 pairs dual DRIVE AGX Thor systems on a chip built on Blackwell with 14 high definition cameras, nine radars, three lidars and 12 ultrasonics.
Recent efforts to add meta action and chain of thought reasoning cut a VLA model's minimum average displacement error by 43%, from 2.08 to 1.18 in challenging autonomous driving evaluations.
The NuRec libraries are available now from NGC. With GTC Berlin coming up next month, we will be closely monitoring any announcements related to NuRec, Alpamayo, or lifelike 3D. Read the original article here.
