Xangle Studio is a bullet-time and Gaussian splat capture studio in Montreal that dates itself to 2012. Its software arm publishes from xangleapps.com under a copyright line running from 2011 to 2026 and crediting Eric Pare and the Xangle team. The two halves are one business, and the studio's own showcase reel is used as the demonstration material for the software it sells.

Xangle Camera Server, shortened by the vendor to XangleCS, is the control layer. It connects, controls, triggers, calibrates, previews, publishes and shares, and Xangle states it scales past 1000 cameras from a single interface. Camera support covers Canon, Sony, GoPro, Android, PiCam and webcams, with iPhone triggering on the macOS build. Triggering, camera settings and file transfer all run over the USB cable rather than a separate trigger harness, and remote clients run on distributed Raspberry Pi machines the operator never has to log into. Version 26.06.11 added Raspberry Pi camera server support alongside a Canon batch download system, and version 26.06.03 added markerless 2D track alignment, which takes the physical calibration bar out of the rig.

Gaussian splatting arrives with the XCS26 release line, whose changelog opens on 14 May 2026 with the entry "Xcs26 changelogs begin: Lichtfeld and Sony RAW+Jpg support". Version 26.07.15 added a splat player update and splat cloud processing, and 26.07.17 gave splats an independent queue so a training job no longer blocks a video render. Xangle documents Postshot as the local training path and publishes a dedicated Gaussian splatting instruction page against it. The account area lists processing credits beside licences and downloads, which is how the cloud route is metered.

Version 26.08.20, dated 20 August 2026, is the current Camera Server release and is titled more camera support, reliable capture, and gaussian-splat player update. It adds support for the Canon EOS R6V, project-local dataset archiving with what Xangle calls safer archive management, more reliable prearmed capture timing for synchronised rigs, clearer splat scene-center controls with the ability to cancel a render, and improved camera health reporting and connection handling.

A second desktop application, Xangle Orbit, handles everything downstream of the shutter. Orbit batch-prepares image sets for RealityScan, trains Gaussian splats, edits splat animations and camera paths, and shares processed multi-camera images. It ships for Windows only, where Camera Server ships for both Windows and macOS, and its most recent release is version 26.07.12 from 12 July 2026.

Work shot on the rig runs to commercial scale. Xangle's showcase carries a Nike bullet-time advertisement and an Onslaught trailer sequence built from a photogrammetry scan of Alex Pereira, and its blog documents a 150-camera Gaussian splat food advertisement, a 155-camera Arducam photogrammetry system built with 3Dfy.me in New Zealand, and a capture of more than 3000 people run with Archer Aviation at the Paris Airshow. Xangle puts a 48-camera shoot at under two minutes from trigger to previewable splat loop.
