Xangle Adds Splat Scene Center Controls and Render Cancellation to Camera Server v26.08.20

Michael Rubloff

Xangle has released Xangle Camera Server v26.08.20, which adds clearer splat scene center controls and the ability to cancel renders. Xangle is a Montréal bullet time and gaussian splat studio that has been shooting since 2012 and builds the rig control software it shoots with.
The splat player has been revised repeatedly across the XCS26 line. v26.07.15 added reset buttons and tooltips throughout the player controls, along with cloud splat capabilities that carry image limits and automatic resizing for training jobs. v26.07.17 moved splat training onto its own queue, so a training job stops blocking a video render.
Xangle Camera Server connects, controls, triggers, calibrates, previews, publishes and shares a multi camera system, and Xangle states it scales past 1000 cameras from a single interface. Triggering, camera settings and file transfer all run over USB, with no separate trigger harness. Camera support covers Canon, Sony, GoPro, Android, PiCam and webcams, and the macOS build also triggers an iPhone.
Postshot is documented as the local training route. Xangle puts a 48 camera shoot at under two minutes from trigger to preview loop, with file transfer and training automated.
v26.08.20 also adds support for the Canon EOS R6V, project local dataset archiving with safer archive management, more reliable prearmed capture timing for synchronized rigs, improved camera storage formatting feedback, and improved camera health reporting and connection handling.
Xangle does not state which trainer runs the cloud splat jobs, or whether the company operates that capacity itself. The line that opened the XCS26 changelog on May 14 reads "Xcs26 changelogs begin: Lichtfeld and Sony RAW+Jpg support". No export format is named anywhere in the Camera Server documentation. Multi-seat licenses arrived in v26.07.04, and pricing is not published on the public site.
A second Windows only application, Xangle Orbit, sits downstream at v26.07.12, batch preparing image sets for RealityScan, training gaussian splats and editing splat animations and camera paths. Xangle Camera Server runs on Windows and macOS. It is available now.
