Niantic Spatial has launched the Places Library, a catalog of 100 real world environments packaged as simulation ready assets for training robot policies.
Each Places Library environment ships as a single USDZ package that pairs a photorealistic Gaussian splat with an aligned collision mesh, both derived from the same reconstruction. The splat carries the appearance and the mesh supplies the surfaces a robot can collide with. Assets arrive gravity aligned, at metric scale and collider ready for NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, and other compatible OpenUSD simulators.
The format follows the USDZ export Niantic Spatial added to Scaniverse in July, which turns a team's own 360 capture into the same splat and mesh pairing for Isaac. Reconstructed scenes have loaded into NVIDIA's simulator as standard USD assets since a beta for Isaac Sim 5.0, and NuRec support reached general availability when Isaac Sim 6.0 shipped in June.
Depth for the collision geometry comes from MVSAnywhere, Niantic Spatial's zero shot multi view depth model, which fills in white walls, glass and other low texture surfaces where photometric reconstruction struggles. Niantic Spatial says the model produces cleaner geometry at true metric scale from an ordinary 360 camera with no LiDAR. Because the splat and mesh share one reconstruction, the appearance model and the collision environment need no manual cross registration, and, in Niantic Spatial's wording, "policies never perceive mesh artifacts as real obstacles."
The initial catalog spans industrial environments, last mile and logistics settings, commercial spaces, and residential environments. Named scenes include a medical warehouse in Staten Island, New York, and a warehouse in Linden, New Jersey. Niantic Spatial says the library will grow with environments added in response to community requests.
Access runs through Niantic Spatial's Embodied AI plans, with the number of places scaling by plan. Niantic Spatial does not publish prices. Every plan also includes capture minutes for reconstructing a team's own sites into custom scenes, and selected scenes can be relit through the Gaussian splat relighting beta to generate lighting and weather variants from the same capture.
Two scenes, Leake Street Arches in London and the Linden Warehouse in New Jersey, are free samples. The Places Library samples are available to download now.
