Turning phone captures or a single image into metric-scale Gaussian splat scenes

SpAItial is a company building what it calls spatial foundation models, AI systems that generate and reconstruct photorealistic, physically grounded 3D environments. The company launched in May 2025 with a $13 million seed round, with Jon Barron, one of the creators of NeRF, among its angel investors.
Echo, its first public model, arrived in December 2025 and turns a single image or text prompt into a navigable, metric-scale scene that SpAItial's web demos render as Gaussian splats in the browser. Echo-2 followed in April 2026, adding semantic segmentation for object-level editing, virtual staging, full-scene style transfer and walkthroughs generated from 2D floor plans. SpAItial reports that Echo-2 outperforms World Labs' Marble 1.1 on the WorldScore benchmark.
Echo-3, released on October 27, 2026, takes the company from generation into capture. A companion iPhone app records a few minutes of footage, and Echo-3 turns it into a photorealistic Gaussian splat scene at real-world scale, filling in regions the capture missed. Scenes can be explored, measured and shared through a browser link, and an Android version is listed as coming soon. According to SpAItial, Echo-3 exports SPZ and SOG splats along with meshes, normals and depth.
Developers reach the models through the SpAItial Developer API. In June 2026 the company shipped a Claude plugin and a hosted MCP server that generate, edit and export worlds from inside a chat, and the same remote endpoint works across Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients. Enterprise API access to Echo-3 is arranged through the company's partnerships team.
The capture app is priced in credits, at 300 credits per scan minute. The Standard plan includes 7,500 credits a month, or 25 scan minutes, for non-commercial use, and the Pro plan includes 15,000 credits, or 50 scan minutes, with commercial rights. A one-month free trial is available. Reconstruction runs in SpAItial's cloud and generation runs through its hosted service, so no local GPU is required.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is SpAItial Echo-3?
SpAItial Echo-3 is a physically grounded world model, released on October 27, 2026, that turns a few minutes of iPhone capture into a photorealistic Gaussian splat scene at real-world scale and fills in regions the capture missed.
Which devices does the SpAItial capture app support?
The SpAItial capture app is available for iPhone on the App Store, and SpAItial lists an Android version as coming soon. Finished scenes are explored, measured and shared in a web browser.
What formats can SpAItial export?
SpAItial says Echo-3 exports Gaussian splats as SPZ and SOG, along with meshes, normals and depth. The SpAItial Claude plugin can also convert a generated world into a downloadable .ply mesh.
How much does SpAItial cost?
SpAItial prices its capture app in credits, at 300 credits per scan minute. The Standard plan includes 7,500 credits a month for non-commercial use, the Pro plan includes 15,000 credits a month with commercial rights, and a one-month free trial is available.
Does SpAItial need a GPU?
SpAItial reconstructs captures in its cloud and generates worlds through its hosted service, so no local GPU is required. Scenes open through a browser link.
